In Calpe there is plenty to see and do on the Mediterranean coast.History In Calpe, you can see the many different civilizations who have been here and left remnants. All the way from the bronze ages are artefacts to testament Calpe’s long and rich history. The Romans settled here once too, establishing the Baños de la Reina. This is one of the most important archaeological sites in all Roman Spain. Amongst others, a notable mention is the old city of Calpe. Here you can visit remnants of the original wall built to protect Calpe from Moorish attacks. Today, the old city contains churches and museums worth visiting.Nature The area around Calpe is rich with natural parks and sites to visit if you want to get away from the city. The most important natural landmark of the town is the Peñon de Ifach, rising 332 m above the city. This large rock stands tall above the city commanding respect from visitors. It is possible to climb it. However, it is not for the faint of heart. Mounting it requires a firm resistance to heights, and good health.
Other areas to see could be one of the numerous natural parks or the salt lakes in the area.Beaches As with many other Costa Blanca cities, Calpe is not far from many excellent beaches.

Beginning at 5, the auction generally lasts from one to two hours. Every day, the fishermen bring in their catch of the day, and sell them to the highest bidder. The fish which aren’t sold are generally sold after the auction at a reduced price.The Peñon Ifach is the most prominent landmark of the town, and with its 332 meters, it towers above the city. We highly recommend you take the trip if you can.Other recommendable activities could be to explore the old part of the city. Or, for the sporty types, a bicycle ride around the area.
