Guardamar del Segura
A Mediterranean resort, known for its 11 kilometres of fine sandy beaches stretching as far as the eye can see, crystal clear see and beautiful landscape coupled with the scent of pine. It is a municipality of the province of Alicante located at the mouth of the river Segura and near two beautiful pink and blue salt lakes.
Here you will be surrounded by unusual natural beauty spots, as Guardamar is also well-known for its large forest with pine, eucalyptus, cypress and palm trees. The forest was originally planted to shelter town from sandstorms.
Historically it’s an area of fishermen and farmers. The town of Guardamar del Segura with a population of just over 11,000 has historically played the role of guardian of the river Segura. Nowdays it’s a popular resort for families and couples who are looking for a relaxing holiday with a Spanish feel.
Nature & Parks
Reina Sofia Park. (Avenida dels Pins, 03140) A hidden gem is great for relaxing, chilling, admiring wildlife: the birds, peacocks, red squirrels and turtles. It has fountains, lakes and woods to explore.
Dunes bring a lot of beauty to the cost. They are stretched from the Pinet beach, by the Santa Pola salt lakes, up to the Segura river. You can enjoy a longer family walk, through the entire 6.2 kms of dunes.
Wonderful sand dunes and pine trees of the Alfonso Park connect the magnificent town to the equally stunning marina and also provides some of the best walking and cycling routes.

Montcayo Beach. One of the best beaches in Spain. The long sandy beach has consistently won the coveted Blue flag for its hygiene and cleanliness
