Elche / Costa Blanca Sud
Elche is a city with a large population on the Costa Blanca and is famous for its palm grove, declared Patrimonio de la Humanidad (World Heritage) by UNESCO. Elche includes both the city center and the area within 15 km from the center, as well as the coastal areas, including the Alicante-Elche International Airport.
Elche has a 12 km coastline, 9 km of which are sandy beaches with cliffs and pine forests characteristic of the Mediterranean landscape. In the northern part of the municipality one can find the extensive sand dunes at El Altet beach and the tourist center Arenales del Sol with a wide range of service facilities.
